New ICF house
The ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) works have completed on our new build house in North London. It’s been interesting to learn about the product and see it used. This has turned out to be a very tricky project to use it on so we are now experts in the various different block types and setting out strategies needed to result in an efficient build. The result is staggeringly air tight – the whole feel of the site is already so different to a traditional build even without the finishes.
Whatever the suppliers say we’ve found installer skill and care is crucial to the success of the product. Flynn Construction have done such a good job it disguising the learning process this construction method was for us all. After this experience though, we’ll use it everywhere we can.
